can I take power from the center of the stage light relay(N.C.post)? want to give sled operator a light if he hits the switch for green light, but hasn't staged monitor. Whats the diode for across the coil contacts on the relay?

The diode is there to "snub" the voltage spike that happens when a relay coil is energized. It prevents voltage spikes from back feeding into the monitor. It is a very much needed component. You can use the NC contact on the relay for whatever purpose you need as long as the current is under 20 amps. If you have any other questions, you can call us on our toll free number 1-800-445-5058.
